Welcome to MagusStorm, a idea I had that began sometime around 1994. I had finished serving in the Air Force and soon after started college and began to get more into computers since I had always had a knack with other people’s computers, and it seemed quite a scholastically easy pursuit, I also needed to formally declare a major in order to begin using my Montgomery GI Bill money and I didn’t feel like Philosophy was a serious endeavor that would lead to a paycheck. I still had to eat after all, and college was not cheap even with the GI Bill. For the first couple semesters I didn’t own a computer but saved up my money from my Assistant Managers job at the local Loews cinema in Plano Texas and soon a new low-cost Windows 95 PC became my very first personal computer. It took most of us AOL to get to the internet back then, but before getting to that Valhalla, you needed a cool username to go by and mine derived from 2 aspects, the first was a direct reference to my Roma heritage in the form of the card I drew to represent myself from my first tarot deck, the Magus. The second aspect referenced something I didn’t yet at the time know, which was that I have aphantasia, mind blindness. For me I thought of my internal mind rather like a vortex or tornado, it was just a spinning storm of thoughts that only provided concepts, associations, and ideas with occasional bursts of lightning epiphanies where things would just suddenly make sense based on other known things. So MagusStorm is my internal mind, and it is just concepts and ideas that cannot really take shape and be seen, sometimes it takes for me to write it down in order to put order to it. Like the Magus depicted by Hanson-Roberts, taking the raw unordered thoughts from above and ordering them here below.
